At the beginning of the new academic year the Bishops' Conference of England and Wales has sent out a Pastoral Letter on Catholic Education which was read on 2nd September 2007. The letter commends the excellent work being achieved in the sphere of Catholic Education and points to the role of the wider Catholic community in supporting our schools and colleges.Parish Deanery Council

Archbishop Kevin commends the open letter of Cardinal Keith O'Brien, President, Catholic Bishops' Conference of Scotland, and Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O'Connor, President, Catholic Bishops' Conference of England and Wales, on the occasion of the 40th Anniversary of the 1967 Abortion Act.Archbishop Kevin has written to the priests and deacons of the diocese asking them to bring the Cardinals' letter to the attention of the people.
