Children between the ages of 3 to 11 leave the Sunday morning Masses at St. Thomas’ and St. Peter’s Churches for their own ‘Liturgy of the Word’ which is carried out reverently in word and song in a way the children can understand and enjoy.
The ‘Children’s Liturgy’ follows the Church’s guidelines and includes a Penitential Rite and the Gospel Reading. There is some discussion about the Gospel and a relevant activity before the closing prayer. The children re-join the Mass at the ‘Offertory Procession’ to present their work.
In both churches the ‘Children’s Liturgy’ is led by groups of volunteers.
